C3-Engineering are proud to present their range of custom designed and manufactured Underwater and Topside Penetrators. Designed and constructed to be deployed in a range of environments and within a broad scope of industries C3-Engineering Underwater and topside penetrators can meet the needs of any industry.

HPS Optical Penetrators

Our Hydro Bond Engineering HPS Penetrators for Saturation (SAT) Diving Systems incorporate Shear Notch Technology in their design which is required for Diving Bell (SDC) DNV approval. A wide range of insert configurations for Power and Comms applications are available and you can nominate the length and type of Polyurethane Jacketed Outboard Cable and the length and type of Radox low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) inboard tails.

All our penetrators are Helium leak Tested at our Factory prior to shipment.


Fibre Link Penetrator

The Hydro Fibre-Link deep field Penetrator can operate at full Ocean pressure, namely 20,000 FSW (610 Bar). The feed through insert is made from Peek with the Penetrator body from Titanium. Other materials can be used for lower pressures. The design and construction of optical fibre penetrators can be limited due to cable design and construction.

The Fibre-Link deep field penetrator can specified to :-

Single-mode
50/125 Multi-mode
62.5/125 Multi-mode

The Penetrator body uses a 5/8” - 18 UNK-2A thread body as a bulkhead or flange mounting. Custom design housings can be accommodated. The Hydro Fibre-Link Deep Field Penetrator is most suitable for sea bed ploughs, ROV, MUX systems and Deep Sea Platforms.


HPS Electrical Penetrators

Hydro Bond electrical penetrators are designed for deep sea applications and are used for passing electrical energy through the pressure boundaries of underwater vehicles and equipment. Several of the designs are Lloyds and DNV type approved and have been specifically designed to withstand both gas and hydrostatic pressure.

Pressure blocking within the penetrator is achieved by using a hard and tough non-conductive insert through which solid conductors are passed. Each individual insert is pre-tested to 5,000 psi before being wired and assembled into the penetrator housing. Peripheral sealing of the insert is effected by means of viton rubber 'O' seals.

A polyetherurethane rubber casing is chemically bonded to both the penetrators metal housing and to the connecting cable and this moulding prevents water entry to the cable cores.
